According to Rosenthal & Sorka in the book Managed Vision Care, published by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, Inc., 60% of employees surveyed said they would trade two days of vacation for an annual eye examination and pair of eyeglasses.

According to the Optical Manufacturers Association more than 30% of eyewear purchases are now paid for, at least in part, by employer sponsored programs.

Vision Statistics:

• 80% of surveyed consumers consider sight to be the most important of the five senses
• 60% of Americans require corrective lenses
• 90% of the American population over 43 requires corrective lenses
  41% of those surveyed have annual eye exams
• 44% are unaware that most eye diseases have no early noticeable symptoms
• 46% have no regular eye doctor
• Over 155 million Americans need corrective lenses, yet less that 93 million purchase them regularly
• Numbers will significantly increase over time because of computer use - "computer vision syndrome" costs employers $2 billion a year in diagnosis and treatment
